The moment is shorter than the thought
Usually it is not a decision but a drop. You reach the two points you do not meet, and the advert is done with.
What you think afterwards is already the justification: unrealistic, they are looking for someone else, I would not have had a chance anyway.
How others read the same advert
For them the two missing points are not exclusion criteria but a wish list. They apply with six out of ten and put what they can do in the first sentence.
That is not cheek, it is a different reading of the same text.
What a job advert actually is
It is a wish list, written by someone imagining the perfect hire. That person rarely exists. The list is a starting point, not an examination rulebook.
Incidentally, whoever meets all ten points is usually under-challenged in the role.
What you can do instead
Take the two missing points and write in one sentence what you bring instead. Not as an apology, but as an offer.
And send it before you revise it a third time. The third revision rarely makes applications better, only later.
A number that helps
If in a year you have not applied for a single role where you felt unsure, then your hit rate was not good. Your selection was too narrow.
